Indiana State Fair Attracts Diverse Crowds


This year's Indiana State Fair, usually known as the "White Expo," attracted a large quantity of people from various ethnic backgrounds. There particularly was a stronger attendance from the Latino community perhaps due to the appearance of pop singer Jennifer Pena. The change in the diversity of attendees goes to show two things: 1, Something that used to lack diversity has now changed and means that there is still hope to encourage and celebrate diversity. 2, Inviting a variety of performers from diverse backgrounds also helps to get many people from many cultures interested in joining the fun at a state fair. The more state fairs attract large and multicultural crowds, the more likely the communities can get closer and see beyond the color of skin, past unique physical traits, and through personal differences.
