Soy Bean is a Snack With A Cause
Ma-me!, pronounced ad-ah-mah-may, is a ready-to-eat edamame, commonly known as fresh green soybean. Upon embarking on a trip to China for the company, Anne Chambers, head of RED marketing and in-house production agency for the beans, adopted her daughter, Annie Chang, in 1995. "My trip to China not only turned me into a mother, but it also sparked an interest in maintaining a healthier diet," said Chambers, 51. Ma Me! is produced by Chambers' new company, Bright Future Foods, named after her 10-year-old daughter. Part of the revenue derived from Ma-Me! sales goes to the cause for international adoptions. Stemming from Bright Future Foods is Bright Future Adoption Foundation, which aims "to raise awareness of adoption, and to help families adopt by giving them some financial assistance." Who knew there was such a good thing as food for a cause? This also goes to show that there are countless numbers of organizations that can also help the cause for adoption from all over the world. With the difficulties of adoption, assistance is greatly needed so that families can find each other without the unnecessary barriers. Families are forever when they can be found.
